One of the most physically and mentally demanding aspects of finally landing my work life parallel dream job has been the resistance training.
Every employer likes to talk about talent and engagement and excellence. Few of them hit the mark. More time is spent talking about the work to be done in meetings than actually doing the work that matters most. Being micromanaged or treated like a line item on a budget fosters a “good enough” culture.
Good enough is no longer good enough. The surest sign you’re on the path to work life parallel is being engaged in what you do and wanting to be your best at it because the enjoyment of the work defines you.
Get excellent, or GTFO.
