I need an affordable, beachfront escape.
V and I have been ramping up vacation plans. We really want to go back to Kauai, but we really want to be debt-free, too. So we’re looking at options closer to home—ideally without airfare.
So we’ve been looking into AirBNBs on the beach in California, lakeside cabins, that sort of thing. You could say we’ve had the beach on our minds for a while.
Which is why I was surprised when, on the way to the grocery store this past weekend, P just out of the blue tells me she wishes we could go back to the beach in Hawaii. She’s said this a couple times a months since we went—in 2016—but it was particularly timely this time, considering we’re actively trying to figure out how to make a beachfront vacation happen.
Feeling particularly close to my sweet child in this moment, I told her, “Me too. In fact, Mommy and I are trying to find us a new beach to go to this summer.”
And then she called me a “Clo-clo.” (Rhymes with “glow-glow.”)
