I had an incredible interview experience yesterday. The kind where everything clicks. The kind where you walk out to the parking lot two and a half hours later feeling 10 feet tall and bulletproof because, damn, everything’s been leading up to this.
It would be presumptuous to say much more right now. I have no idea how I stack up against the rest of the candidates. But I’ve never felt so prepared, so confident, or so at-home during an interview.
Win or lose, I’m excited to share the story with you. Because it’s 100% after-parallel awesome. Just need to wait a bit longer, okay?
Today is a strange day. In the 24hrs after learning my position was being eliminated, I’ve got a phone interview scheduled and am pursuing two freelance writing leads.
I just lost my job.
Despite everything I had going for me, when the business needed to pivot, I didn’t have enough to make the turn with them.
I’m pretty bummed about it, but I’m not gonna let it get me down. I achieved work life parallel. I’m staying parallel.
While this news brings tremendous doubt, worry, and stress, it does not bring the end of our story. In fact, it frees me up to go deeper with the story.
Awesome people are already looking out for me. They are loved. And they will be repaid in kind.
Who’s up for a game of Account-Based Job Hunting, right? I need to reflect on my skills database and start thinking about target accounts.
The best is yet to come.
And, considering I’ve worked at LeadMD, that’s saying something.
